Ozone (O3) as food sterilizer

Last weekend in the Star newspaper, I came across an advertisement by UV-Ozone about using Ozone as food sterilizer. I've heard something about this from my mum because my uncle bought it for RM500. I check it out through the internet but the price is RM1797. I'm shock about the price discrepancies.

So I call up UV ozone and asked about the differences between RM1797 UV Ozone generator and the one that my uncle bought. She told me that the RM500 Ozone generator is using corona discharge instead of UV and its more harmful because it discharging Nitrogen Oxide which is harmful. I don't know if that's true. The advantage of corona discharge is no need to change the UV bulb every 2 year, save electric bill, more ozone generated and the most important is its cheaper by RM1300.

But do I want compromise health to get cheaper Ozone generator? Or maybe I shouldn't get any of them and save my money.

Two types of Chinese in Malaysia

Yesterday, the Star newspaper ran Wong Chun Wai article saying that Chinese population in Malaysia can be categorize into two which is Chinese educated and another one is English/Malay educated. It is said that English/Malay educated (or banana man) only accounted for 15% of whole Chinese population in Malaysia.

Chinese educated Chinese (sound weird right?) are typically business man and only care about if the environment is conducive for business. If not, then they'll start to complain. English/Malay educated Chinese are more gear towards current political affairs and goverment policies and thus they always voice out their concern through internet and everywhere. Currently a lot of them goes online. If you're online too, you'll feel, OMFG, all Chinese are pissed of with BN government when in the real world, only 15% of the Chinese are complaining (I'm in the minority group).

But still, the article conclude that eventhough these group are different, but there's one thing that both group have similarities. That is Chinese does want fairness in everything that government does. And this has not happened yet.

Anyway, I'm questioning the facts of this article. For one thing, based on certain website and my friend, there are Chinese educated people who are very critical too as we can see from merdekareview.com website. And no doubt, some of my friend who are Chinese couldn't care less about what happened. And some said that people who does care means they are too free and read too much malaysiakini, jeffooi.com and blog.limkitsiang.com....

I just hope Chinese are united in fighting their rights. They should organize some peaceful demonstration such as the one organize by the Indian in Putrajaya lately...

Failure of mass media

When I'm in primary school I used to read Utusan Malaysia and occasionally Berita Harian. And when I start to grasp some English, I started to read News Straits Times and occasionally Star (because I think Star writing style is not as elegant as NST). All the news inside these newspaper I took as definitive and I always believe Barisan Nasional in taking care of us, the common people.

But ever since I got hooked into internet, I start to read jeffooi.com, malaysiakini.com etc. All this non-mainstream news enlightened me towards the state of affairs of our current government which never get reported in NST or Star. Is there a invincible string being pulled around? For example, currently a scandal involving senior lawyer in a phone conversation with the chief justice on fixing the appointment of senior judges was not highlighted in the mainstream press. This is totally unacceptable. Furthermore, Star called itself the People's Paper.

However, under the current PM, our discontent is voiced out freely (and so it seems). Hopefully there's no crackdown like Operasi Lalang. Voicing out discontent is part and parcel of democracy if its done properly. Its for the good of country and the people. People who voice out is because its for country's good and can be considered as patriotic.

Today, I talk with Chee Hong and he voice out that Malaysia is no longer mentioned in any expansion plan by big institution such as Intel, Xilinx, etc. I believe its because we have lose out in skill, cost, and some governemnt protection. We need to grow up and look ahead of us. Fight with other country and not fight among race in our own country. We need to fight for bigger pie. And not fight among us for smaller pie due to internal fight. And thus, we need to rid of discriminating policy and together we fight for the better future for Malaysia.

New baby boomers and nolstagia

Our parent is baby boomers generation. And we're the next generation of baby boomers. The proof lies in entertainment industries such as movies and musics. We're bombarded with movies such as the most recent Transformers and others such as Spider man, Fantastic Four, Xmen etc. Later we'll get Knight Riders and some new TV mini series such as Bionic Woman. In music, we see old songs repackaged into new compilation such as Air Supply, Jacky Cheung etc. Old Anime such as Robotech, Gundam X, Wing, 0078, etc etc are sold in HK Video.

All this is chance for us to relieve our poor child hood. I still remember I went to my relative house to watch Gundam 0078 first episode over and over again. Now I bought the whole series and manage to finished watching all the episodes once and for all. This is good therapy too. Its like finish the unfinished business before you die....

This part of human that cause them to keep on buying stuff that they missed buying during childhood. Recently I've read a woman who bought Barbie Dolls and play dress up even though her age is not young anymore. As a matter of fact, I also bought Transformers Optimus Prime not too long ago. I transformed it and put into display cabinet. It really feels good. A good psychological therapy indeed.

It's confirmed : I'm getting stupid

Yesterday I went to Tesco Penang to check out on the EyeRelax. That person on duty want to check my eye. So he give me a piece of card board and ask me to close my eyes. And so, without any thought, I just bring up the card board and use it to block my left eye. Then he said to me to use my hand instead to block my eyes. Then only I realise the usage of the card board. Guess what its usage? It shaped like this:
E
And the thing I'm looking at has E that is rotated randomly.

Yes, yes. Its used to tell that person on duty how the E is rotated but I use it to cover my eyes :S

One thing that makes me happy is that person said I have perfect eye sight. People can see until 5.0 but I can see until 5.5. Muahahaha....

EyeRelax : no need LASEK

Yes, this product promise you that you don't have to do LASEK/LASIK/EPI and still will cure your short/long sight (amblyopia(lazy eye), myopia and presbyopia). And it only cost you RM1599 compare to RM5000 doing custom LASEK.

Will it work? Should I buy? Even though I did LASEK, I don't think the result is perfect. Hence this product will make it even more perfect. Some more, it'll prevent old people long sightedness. But I need more concrete evidence before I plunge myself into more debts.

Anime Weekend

This is the 2nd weekend in a row that I lock up in my room and watched DVD whole day. This time, the title of the DVD is Gundam Seed Destiny. It continue the story from Gundam Seed where the peace is achieved. But suddenly, world is plunge into chaos after some Coordinator terrorist send a man made comet down to earth killing millions. Djibril, Logos boss start to fan hatred towards Coordinator. But a wrong move made by him by destroying few cities in Eurasia give Coordinator Chairman a reason to turn the table by saying the war is caused by Logos. And thus, Logos getting elimination. However, no one knows about the evil plan by Coordinator Chairman.

This is a good anime. I rate it better than Gundam Seed. It makes me change my side from Coordinator to Archangel (which at first I thought was too dumb). It has good drama and good mecha fighting.

I finished it in 2 days for an anime of 50 episodes....

Concoction of Slimming Product

I've reached 85kg in less than 1 year time and remain so for almost 1/2 year. For the past few months, I've been feeling uncomfortable to have flabs everywhere especially my tummy. It hinders my movement sometimes. After the LASEK operation, I've been on diet to make sure I ate only the healthy stuff so that my eyes can cure faster. I only take fish fish porridge for 1 week. I feel good actually eating only healthy stuff.

After 1 week, I make a decision to be on diet to reduce my weight to 65kg.1 thing that I must cut down is potato chip. I've been eating potato chip at night very frequently. I feel this is main reason for my weight gain. Eating during the night time contribute even more to my weight gain.

Besides eating well, I've cut down on lunch using meal replacement drink, SlimStyles. It taste very bad and I make sure I don't buy it anymore. Not happy with the weight loss program, I took some weight loss suppliment:
Liquid L-Carnitine - making sure fat are brought to cell to burn
Sante Slim Rice - detox and ease bowel movement
Xpertise Tummy Tight - slimming gel
Wei Wei slimming cream
Wei Wei slimming serum

Together with the product above, I also use Oto slimming belt while exercising on a crossing training. Strolling in Tesco, I saw skipping rope and rowing action gadget and bought them.

1 day of each week, I did intensive exercise (exercise for longer than 1 hour). During weekdays in office, I also skipped full lunch and prefer to eat Milo drink and biscuit and sometimes take the SlimStyle Meal Replacement drink.

Eating after 8pm will be a no no.

I hope to reduce weight to 65kg. Wish me luck!

Post LASEK operation review

Today is already 1 month after the operation. My eyes already clear up from any haziness. As a matter of fact, it started to clear up 2 weeks after the operation. But I started to see very clear at about 3rd week. At 4th week, the improvement is not that much. I still cannot say that my eyes result is final. But here is what I got to say after 1 month.

My left eye which is always clearer than my right eye can see very far away. Whereas my right eye, anything far will be blur. It's either I have short-sightedness for my right or the astigmatism is still there. And weirdly, when I see some near things like computer LCD screen, I still some blurness. So I just block my right eye with my palm and realise my left eye is out of focus. But then it will slowly focus and become clear. I don't know if my left eye is having long sightedness now since I can still focus near things. Just that when I use both eyes, my left eye tends to go out of focus. OMG. My brain is not working properly to focus my left eyes. OMG OMG.

Anyway, this Saturday will be a checkup. Hopefully my right eye still have scar to explain the blurness. Else, if consider fully recover, I might opt for corrective surgery and that stinks.

I love all the movies. If you search google those movies, they have bad reviews. But its fun alright.

I managed to watch 'em all in 2 days.

I've recently being told that Virgoans are attention seekers. They need a lot of attention to feel good about themselves. I believe I might have that kind of trait. To make sure that majority of Virgoans are really attention seekers, I've decided to make a poll in www.lowyat.net. The reason is that the people who go to Forum is normally attention seekers. And guess what. The winner is Virgo. So there you go. Proof that Virgo are really attention seeker.

Another way to enrich cronies

The next time a criminal being jailed, he/she can try to offer bribe to get himself/herself out of jailed using the parole system. Of course I don't hope this will happen or else we'll see rapist and murderer on the street. Before this is implemented, make sure there's not loopholes for bribery or kickbacks or this will be another way to enrich the cronies.

Parole system from next year

By BERNARD SEE

PENANG: The parole system will be introduced next year to reduce the maintenance cost of prisoners, which runs up to more than RM426mil annually.

Desire

Ever think what can something that you don't have might improve your life tremendously and make you happier everyday? You might have that feeling everytime you saw something that grab your attention and the urge to buy is so strong that you might fall for it. For guys, imagine what those 4 to 6 channel RC helicopter can do for you. You'll be able to play indoor and outdoor and impress friends. Imagine what Nintendo Wii can do for you too. You can invite girls to play in your living room. However, for some people, like me for example, it is better to leave such thought as it is, just thought. Majority of the things, that I've bought end up doing nothing. Before buying, many thoughts coming in on how such and such things might work wonder and make me happier. So for these peoples, think first before buy. But it might be better not to think at all.

Being Atheist is same as being Theist

There's similarities in them such as:
a)both still buy pirated CD/DVD and enjoy it without guilt

b)both still sin because human are sinner no matter how holy you are (except that after sin, theist can ask for forgiveness)

c)both have main reference book (theist - Bible, atheist - richard dawkin's a God's Delusion)

d)both still die so why not we enjoy now instead of picking other's differences :)

Of deceit and immorality

Living in deceitful world, most of the time, I failed the challenge and my morality has fallen to lowest ebb. Is because my life is lack of religion? I do believe in Buddhism where karma rules the day. What I did will affect what I will become. Same as what I eat is what I'll become. There's no offset or cancellation to karma. Any bad karma will have to be suffered. Not same as other religion where praying and other means can be used to save yourself from bad deeds. Means, Buddhism, you have to help your self (self service). Whereas other religion, you can always ask help from greater being.

I just hope that by realising my shortfall, I'll able to pull myself up again. What good is there to fulfilment of desire which causing life full of deceit and immorality compare to making of good deeds and live pure and honest life?

Equality?

This headline is grabbed from Malaysiakini:

PM wants Muslims to strive for equality, democracy
Muslim nations will see peace and stability only when justice and the rule of law are in place and women were fully empowered, adds the premier.

I'm astounded by the way our PM keep on saying the things that is opposite of what Malaysia is. I think he is either clearly of sync or he is just another politician.
